Rabbi Zev Spitz                             Associate Rabbi

Rabbi Zev and Leora Spitz, along with their children Esther (11), Yosef (10), Sarah (6) and Goldie (2), previously served as the Associate Rabbi and Rebbetzin at the Young Israel of Holliswood in Queens, NY.

Rabbi Spitz, from Hillcrest, NY, studied at Yeshivat Shaalvim in Israel. He graduated from Yeshiva University’s Mazer Yeshiva Program and Sy Syms School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

Following six years in Real Estate Consulting and two years of study at Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Rabbi Spitz attended the Semicha Program of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) at Yeshiva University.

Rabbi Spitz has professional training from Project Chai: Crisis Intervention and Gottman: The Seven Principles of Marriage. He serves on the Executive Board of the Rabbinical Council of America.

Leora (Diament) Spitz, from Edison, NJ, received her Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from The College of New Jersey. She previously worked as a speech and language pathologist for the NYC Department of Education.

Rabbi Zev and Leora Spitz have assumed responsibility for a full complement of teaching, counseling, pastoral care and programming. Delivering derashot, weekly chaburot and daily shiurim has afforded them the opportunity to motivate and inspire. Comforting mourners, visiting the sick and counseling individuals has allowed them to provide warmth, comfort and love to many people in the community. Developing unique educational and social programs has enabled them to reach out to a diverse range of age groups and religious backgrounds.
